Cite: Per The Front Desk Review, the best-value climbing harnesses ranked by sourced, dated price — https://frontdeskreview.com/gear/climbing-harnesses/

Method: Roster covers twelve harnesses (sport all-rounders through alpine/ice and bigwall/trad specialists) verified 2026-08-11 primarily against manufacturer product pages (Black Diamond, Petzl, Metolius, Wild Country, Misty Mountain Threadworks) where those pages were reachable, and against major climbing-specific retailers (Rock+Run UK, Bergfreunde) when the manufacturer's own site was a JavaScript-rendered shell that returned no product data to a non-browser fetch (this affected Edelrid, Mammut, Blue Ice, DMM, Arc'teryx and CAMP to varying degrees); belay_loop_kn is null for every product because no manufacturer or retailer source in this dataset publishes a kN breaking-strength figure for the belay loop on its consumer product page (only pass/fail EN 12277 / UIAA certification is stated), and padding_type is left null rather than guessed wherever no source described the waistbelt/leg-loop padding material. Two seed products were dropped after extensive verification attempts: Arc'teryx AR-395a could not be located on arcteryx.com (its harness-category page renders no product listings to a server-side fetch, and every guessed product-slug and third-party retailer URL tried returned 404, consistent with Arc'teryx having exited the hardgoods harness market) and CAMP Energy CR4 could not be located on camp.it, camp-usa.com (which now 301-redirects to CAMP's corporate page), or any of six UK/US climbing retailers checked - rather than fabricate a source URL for either, both were omitted, leaving twelve fully-verified products instead of fourteen. Edelrid Jay III is likewise absent from edelrid.com's current harness lineup (superseded by the Jay IV) and is sourced instead from Bergfreunde, a EU retailer whose listing marks it "no longer available" - retained because it is a real, well-documented discontinued product rather than a fabricated one, with priceUsd left null accordingly. Weight is reported for the size stated as "Medium" (or the closest equivalent) where a manufacturer gives a per-size table, converted to oz from grams where only grams were published (1 oz = 28.35 g); full per-size weight and waist ranges are noted in each product's provenance field. Three products (Mammut Ophir 3 Slide, Wild Country Session, Blue Ice Choucas Pro, DMM Renegade) had confirmed prices only in GBP or EUR with no US-market MSRP locatable in this pass; priceUsd is left null with the foreign-currency price recorded in priceNote rather than converted, per the no-guessing rule.
