Cite: Per The Front Desk Review, the best-value dive regulators ranked by sourced, dated price — https://frontdeskreview.com/gear/dive-regulators/

Method: Fourteen regulators verified 2026-08-11 primarily against manufacturer product pages (Scubapro/Johnson Outdoors, Apeks, Atomic Aquatics, Cressi, Hollis, Sherwood) with retailer corroboration where fetchable; five seed names did not resolve to any current or discoverable product and were adversarially corrected to the real, currently-sold item in the same product line rather than invented: "Apeks MTX-R" (single-cylinder version discontinued; current UK site only lists "MTX-R Sidemount Set" plus the mainline successor "MTX-RC" — used MTX-RC), "Apeks XTX200" (fully removed from Apeks' current catalog and sitemap, no successor of that exact name; substituted the closest current mid/tech-line diaphragm reg, XTX50), "Cressi Master Crono" (no such product exists; the real model is the AC25M "Master Cromo" — name typo corrected), "Mares Prestige 22X" (no "22X" exists in Mares' current or historical Prestige line per cross-referenced buyer's guides; the real current mid-tier Prestige model is the 15X, substituted), "Oceanic Zeo FDX10" (Oceanic's own product page pairs the Zeo first stage with an "FDXi" second stage, not "FDX10" — name corrected), and "Hollis 500SE" (discontinued, absent from Hollis' current regulator lineup; substituted the current flagship 200LX+DCX). Several manufacturer/retailer sites (aqualung.com, mares.com, oceanicworldwide.com, scuba.com, leisurepro.com, scubatoys.com) either bot-blocked WebFetch (403), rate-limited it (429), or serve specs via client-side JavaScript not present in fetched HTML; for Aqua Lung Legend Elite, Aqua Lung Core, Mares Fusion 52X, Mares Prestige 15X, and Oceanic Zeo FDXi this means several spec fields are left null rather than filled from unverified general knowledge, and priceUsd is null throughout for any product whose price could not be read directly off a fetched page. UK-priced Apeks entries (MTX-RC, XTX50) show GBP list price only in priceNote since no fetched source gave a USD figure and currency-converting a list price would itself be a guess. accessedAt 2026-08-11 throughout.
