Method: Covers self-balancing two-wheel personal transporters sold at a published US price, marketed and retailed as 'hoverboards' — classic flat twin-platform boards, big-wheel off-road variants, and knee-control-bar 'self-balancing scooters' (the Segway-Ninebot S-series), which US retailers file under the same hoverboard category. Three seeds were corrected against verified current product lines: 'Hover-1 Titan Pro' does not exist as a distinct SKU — the actual current product is 'Hover-1 Titan'; 'Halo Rover X2' does not exist — the actual current product is 'Halo Rover X'; 'Tomoloo Q3' has no verifiable current spec sheet or retail listing — the actual currently-documented and sold variant is 'Tomoloo Q3-C' (confirmed via the manufacturer's own made-in-china.com and Alibaba storefronts), so the entry was corrected to that SKU. max_speed_kmh and range_km hold the manufacturer's stated maximum figures, converted from the published mph/mi to km (rounded to 1 decimal); where a manufacturer publishes the value directly in km/h or km it is used as-is. Independent lab/real-world test results (ERideHero, TechGearLab) frequently come in lower than the manufacturer's marketing claim — those tested figures are never substituted into the spec columns, only noted in each product's provenance for context. motor_power_w is the manufacturer's stated total motor wattage (both hub motors combined, e.g. 'dual 250W' -> 500); a few manufacturers (Segway-Ninebot) publish a combined peak/rated power figure rather than a simple per-motor continuous rating, flagged in provenance where relevant. max_load_kg is the manufacturer's maximum rider weight, converted from lbs (or used directly where a manufacturer states kg). wheel_size_in is the nominal wheel/tire diameter in inches. battery_wh is the pack capacity in watt-hours, computed from the manufacturer's published voltage x amp-hours when Wh is not stated directly; null when neither figure is published. ip_rating is the manufacturer's stated ingress-protection code (e.g. 'IPX4', 'IP54', 'IP56'); null when unpublished. ul2272_certified is true when the manufacturer states compliance with UL 2272 (the US electrical/fire safety standard for self-balancing boards) or its newer bifurcated UL 2271 (battery) / UL 2272 (vehicle) pairing. app_control is true when a manufacturer states a companion smartphone app for settings/telemetry/firmware, false when a source explicitly confirms no app exists (or only a Bluetooth speaker, no app, is offered), and null when unpublished or genuinely ambiguous. priceUsd prefers the manufacturer's own list/MSRP figure over a temporary sale price; where only a retailer price was verifiable, that figure is used and flagged. Six DTC brand storefronts (gotrax.com, swagtron.com, epikgo.com, hover-1.com, ridejetson.com, haloboard.com, all Shopify-hosted) returned HTTP 429 to every fetch attempt made during this compilation — reproduced independently via a direct curl request and via a real headless-Chromium browsing session, not a one-off tool fluke, and confirmed as a Cloudflare-level block (visible in response headers) rather than a per-page issue. For those brands, spec and price figures are corroborated instead through at least one independently-fetched retailer, reseller, or lab-test page (Newegg, Wellbots, Gearscoot, ePoweredMotion, Bikes4Sale, TechGearLab, ERideHero) plus the manufacturer's own published text as it appears verbatim in that independent source; no figure in this file was invented, and several fields (e.g. Hover-1 Titan and Swagtron T6 Outlaw prices, Tomoloo Q3-C's US retail price, EPIKGO Sport's top speed) are left null because no accessible source stated them. All images were downloaded and visually inspected before inclusion to confirm they depict the exact named product.
