Verdict: a fast, rugged (IP55), AES-256 hardware-encrypted USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 drive that nears its 2GB/s claim under heavy 4-thread load but falls short in lighter Blackmagic/single-thread tests. The Tom's Hardware source was dropped because fetch-clean returned only its page-1 spec sheet, so none of its quotes or measured performance/thermal values could be verified. (1 sourced review.)

**SK Hynix Beetle X31 Portable SSD** — Solid but not class-leading. Three testers benchmarked it hands-on — PCWorld (July 2023) and StorageReview (February 2024) on 1TB, Tom's Hardware (December 2024) on 2TB.
