It calls the XD one of, if not the most versatile midrange synths out there, praising its thick atmospheric analog pads, solid tank-like build quality, and user-programmable digital Multi oscillator. It flags four-note polyphony that runs out for piano-style playing, the lack of MIDI thru in a crowded studio, and drive/key-track switches that offer only three positions.
