Method: 13 notable weighted blankets selected as the 2026 buyer comparison set. All 10 brief seeds were verified and kept: Bearaby Napper (Cotton Napper, the beadless chunky-knit category-definer), Gravity Blanket (the original glass-bead DTC blanket that popularized the category), YnM Weighted Blanket (Original Cotton, the Amazon-native budget/best-seller), Baloo Living (all-cotton, no-polyester-liner eco pick), Layla Weighted (dual-sided cooling/warming), Luna Weighted (Cotton, budget value line), Sunday Citizen Snug (the Snug Crystal Weighted Blanket, its actual current weighted-blanket SKU name — 'Snug' alone is a separate non-weighted throw), Quility Premium (Amazon's top-selling budget line, bundled cover), Hush Iced 2.0 (organic-bamboo cooling variant of the Hush Classic), and Brooklinen Weighted Comforter (duvet-style construction vs. a therapy-blanket feel). Three products were added to round the set to 13 and cover comparison axes the seeds leave thin: Silk & Snow Hand-Knitted Weighted Blanket (a second beadless hand-knit competitor to Bearaby, notably cheaper), Luxome Cooling Weighted Blanket (a modular removable-cover system with a bamboo-lyocell cooling option), and Saatva Organic Weighted Blanket (the GOTS-organic-cotton-velvet luxury tier). SOURCING: a hard bot-blocking pattern dominated this research run — gravityblankets.com, balooliving.com, sundaycitizen.co, hushblankets.com, brooklinen.com (own product page), www.silkandsnow.com/en-us, and luxome.com (header-overflow parse error) returned HTTP 429/403 or failed to parse on nearly every direct-fetch attempt across many retries; bearaby.com blocked every attempt outright; lunablanket.com failed DNS resolution entirely from this environment despite resolving fine in search-engine results. ynmhome.com and quilityweightedblanket.com were intermittently reachable (429 on some attempts, 200 on others) and eventually yielded clean official-page fetches; laylasleep.com and saatva.com fetched cleanly on every attempt. For every blocked brand, specs/price were sourced instead from an independently fetched hands-on review (mattressnerd.com, mattressclarity.com, sleepfoundation.org, reviewed.com, nonbiasedreviews.com) or an authorized-retailer/press page (nordstrom.com, refinery29.com, thetismassage.com) — each disclosed per-product in priceNote/provenance. The WebSearch tool's session budget (200 calls) was exhausted partway through this research; all sourcing after that point relied exclusively on WebFetch against URLs already surfaced, which is why a few fields (notably Sunday Citizen's weight-specific pricing and Hush Iced 2.0's per-size weight figures) could not be independently re-confirmed and were left null rather than guessed. priceUsd = the lowest-priced weight/size configuration actually confirmed by a fetched source (not necessarily the brand's absolute cheapest SKU if that specific figure was unreachable); Sunday Citizen's priceUsd is null because sundaycitizen.co blocked every attempt and the one retailer page that loaded (Nordstrom) showed the item sold out with price suppressed, so no fetched source confirmed a current number. IMAGES: Wikimedia Commons was checked first (search for 'weighted blanket' surfaces only generic DIY/homemade-blanket photos and a Hush logo file — no free-licensed photo of any of these 13 specific branded products exists there), so none were used from Commons. Three confirmed manufacturer-CDN studio photos were used, each downloaded and visually inspected to confirm the exact product: Layla (laylasleep.com's own cdn-assets, showing the grey quilted blanket), Saatva (saatva.imgix.net, showing the diamond-quilted velvet throw on a sofa), and YnM (ynmhome.com/cdn/shop/files, a studio shot of the light-grey quilted blanket with a visible 'The Strategist — Best in Class 2025' award badge overlay confirming brand origin). For the remaining 10 products, every located photo was either the review site's own hands-on/testing photography (Bearaby via Sleep Foundation's standardized 'TOP-DOWN' test-photo series and Mattress Nerd's dim-bedroom shot; Baloo and Brooklinen via Reviewed.com's tester posing with the product on a bed; Silk & Snow and Luxome via casual reviewer snapshots) rather than brand press material, or was structurally unreachable (Quility's product images are JS-lazy-loaded SVG placeholders with no resolvable src; Gravity's, Sunday Citizen's, and Hush's own CDN asset paths sit behind the same edge block as their product pages; Luna's domain never resolved) — all omitted rather than mis-labeled as manufacturer photography. accessedAt 2026-08-01 on all entries.
