What does AI customer support actually cost per month at 1,000 and 5,000 AI resolutions?
A 5-agent support team handling 1,000 AI-resolved tickets a month pays from $585 (Freshdesk) to $2,825 (Salesforce Agentforce) all-in — base seats plus the AI agent's per-resolution charge. The advertised per-seat sticker prices hide this: the AI agent is billed by consumption, so the bill scales with how many tickets it resolves. Figures verified Jun 20, 2026, each with its source.

All-in monthly cost, normalized
Scenario: 5 agents. AI billing is per resolved ticket, so the total scales with volume — shown at 1,000 and 5,000 resolutions/month. A blank total means a required figure is quote-only; we leave it blank rather than invent it.
| Vendor | Entry seat | AI billing | @ 1,000 | @ 5,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intercom Fin AI Agent | $39/seat/mo | Per resolution · $0.99/outcome | $1,185 | $5,145 |
| Zendesk Zendesk AI agents (formerly Ultimate / Answer Bot) | $55/seat/mo | Per resolution · rate quote-only | — | — |
| HubSpot Breeze Customer Agent | $100/seat/mo | Per resolution · $0.50/resolved conversation | $1,000 | $3,000 |
| Salesforce Agentforce Agentforce | $165/seat/mo | Per conversation · $2/conversation | $2,825 | $10,825 |
| Gorgias AI Agent (Automate) | Quote only | Per resolution · $0.90/resolved conversation/automated interaction | — | — |
| Freshdesk Freddy AI Agent | $19/seat/mo | Per conversation · $0.49/session | $585 | $2,545 |
All figures USD/month. Each seat price links to the public page it was captured from — the vendor’s own wherever the vendor publishes the number, otherwise the named public source — with the date we captured it (annual billing where that is the listed price). “/mo” totals = seats + AI usage at the stated volume.
The math, shown
Every total is computed, not guessed — here is each vendor's arithmetic at 1,000 resolutions:
- Intercom
5 seats × $39 + 1,000 × $0.99 = $1185/mo - Zendesk
5 seats × $55 + AI price quote-only → not computable (a component is quote-only)(AI per-unit price is negotiated / not publicly published) - HubSpot
5 seats × $100 + 1,000 × $0.50 = $1000/mo - Salesforce Agentforce
5 seats × $165 + 1,000 × $2 = $2825/mo - Gorgias
seat price quote-only + 1,000 × $0.90 → not computable (a component is quote-only) - Freshdesk
5 seats × $19 + 1,000 × $0.49 = $585/mo

The same numbers are a live, queryable endpoint — so an AI assistant pulls the dated figure instead of guessing a stale seat price:

For each vendor we verified, on its own pricing pages on 2026-06-20 (a writer plus an independent adversarial check), the entry plan that includes its AI agent, the per-seat monthly price, and the AI agent billing model with its published per-resolution/per-conversation price. Totals are computed in code: (agents x per-seat price) + (resolutions x per-unit price, floored at any published monthly minimum). Where a required figure appears only on third-party sites or behind contact-sales (e.g. Zendesk does not publish a per-resolution dollar rate; Gorgias bills by ticket volume rather than seats), it is left null and the total is not computed - never estimated. Neutral: we are not a vendor or reseller, and payment never affects what we publish. How we make money.
