How this index works

Every figure in this index is read from a source you can visit, dated on the day it was verified, and corrected in public — free — when it turns out wrong. Here is exactly how.

Who we are. This is the Online Booking section of The Front Desk Review. We publish structured, verified market data about appointment scheduling and online booking software. We are not a vendor, an agency, or an affiliate of any company listed here.

Where the data comes from. Every data point on this site carries its own provenance: the source URL, the date we captured it, and how it was verified. We collect data three ways:

1. Public sources. We monitor vendors' published pricing and feature pages on a weekly schedule. We respect robots.txt and rate limits. We do not archive every page we cite: where the change wire needs a dated second witness for a page — a published price move it will not carry on our reading alone — we ask the Internet Archive's Save Page Now to capture that page, and each capture is recorded with the date it was taken so the capsule can link the snapshot rather than only our figure. Where a second source confirms a figure, we attach it as corroboration — read on its own day, not necessarily the day the first source was read, which is why both access dates travel with the row (accessed_at and corroboration_accessed_at).
2. Direct measurement. Benchmark data, where we publish it, comes from scripted test calls placed to vendors' public demo lines. Recordings and transcripts are retained, and the methodology for each run is published with it.
3. Corrections. Anyone — vendor, reader or competitor — can send a correction by email, free of charge; no account, and no vendor payment is ever required or accepted. Verified corrections are applied and logged in the public corrections record with the date.

  Call Tracking — WildJar — all three tiers. We had been citing a page WildJar abandoned. Nothing on their site links to it any more, its footer still reads 2024 and its testimonials are placeholder text — but it still answers normally and still serves the old prices, so every re-verification kept confirming figures the vendor no longer charges. On the live page the US entry tier is $150 a month, not $39, and it is a different product: it bundles four tracking numbers, 500 minutes and transcription instead of metering from the first minute. The $159 top tier has no published price at all now. The middle tier holds at $89, but its metered rates were wrong on every line. The page also opens on Australian pricing, with the four regions hidden behind a switcher, which is a trap for the next reader and for our own scanner.

  Call Tracking — Mediahawk — the whole record. This record matched nothing on the page it cited. It listed one plan, "Per-user (entry)", at $50 per user per month, called that a vendor-stated dollar equivalent, and put the annual saving at 20%. The page publishes two priced tiers at £199 and £299 a month, both stating unlimited users, with an annual saving of 10%. The phrase "per user" does not appear on it, and neither does a dollar sign. The record now carries the two real tiers with every dollar field empty, because this vendor publishes no dollar price and converting one at a rate it does not quote is how the original figure got there. The single observation that figure had left in our price log was removed with it.

  Call Tracking — Convirza — HIPAA and BAA. This guide had said the cheapest call tracking with a signed BAA was Convirza's $29 plan. A full read of Convirza's public site does not support it. Its Caller Privacy page does say it "will provide and sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)", but that sentence is a feature bullet for the Caller Privacy product, names no plan or tier, and Caller Privacy appears in neither published plan matrix — while clause 15 of Convirza's own terms states "Convirza makes no claims or warranties regarding compliance with HIPAA" and clause 27 voids terms not written into that agreement. Every Convirza tier also sells through a demo request, so there is no $29 self-serve plan to buy. Both compliance fields stay unstated, and the claim has been withdrawn from the guides that carried it.

Freshness. Pricing rows show their "last verified" date. Rows we have not been able to re-verify within 30 days are flagged STALE rather than silently retained.

How we compare prices

Booking and scheduling tools are not telephony — there is no call or minute meter to normalize. Instead we record each vendor's lowest published monthly price by plan and the headline comparison is that entry figure:

• Per-seat plans are recorded at the published per-user list price; the figure is what one seat costs per month, and a team multiplies it by staff count.
• Flat plans are recorded at the flat monthly fee, independent of staff count.
• Free tiers are recorded at $0 with the published cap (users, calendars, or appointments per month) in the plan notes.
• Quote-only / enterprise tiers carry no figure — a dash, not a guess.

Where a vendor's live page publishes no confirmable USD price (a JavaScript-gated figure, or non-USD-only pricing), we record no price rather than fabricate one or import a conflicting third-party number. That vendor appears with a dash, an honest gap.

Named measurements

This section does not yet publish named test-call measurements. Rather than invent a metric, we omit it until a benchmark run exists — the pricing and capability data above is sourced and dated regardless.
