Importing to the Argentina: is it actually cheaper?
We haven't priced individual products for Argentina yet — but the checker works on any Argentina product link right now: paste one and we read its price, match our US price of record, and do the landed-cost math below. Here's how importing to Argentina works.
How importing to the Argentina works
- Import VAT
- 21% on the US price + shipping (CIF), above a $ 598.800 de-minimis threshold.
- Duty
- 35% — For reshipped/courier parcels the practical duty is a simplified flat 50% charged only on the value EXCEEDING the USD 400 franquicia (replaces standard duties + statistical fee); below USD 400 duty is 0% and only 21% IVA is due. Argentina is not a duty-free ITA haven, but the Milei government slashed formal electronics tariffs: smartphones went 16%→8%→0% (0% since 15-Jan-2026, Decreto 333/2025); laptops/notebooks (NCM 8471.30) still ~8-16%; cameras/headphones vary 0-16% under the Mercosur CET. The 50% courier surcharge, not the formal ad-valorem tariff, is what a forwarder parcel over USD 400 actually pays.
- Forwarding
- Stackry, from the US — about 6-14 days.
- FX
- $1521/USD mid-market + 3% card spread, as of 2026-10-08.
Every verdict is computed only from these figures — it's never for sale, and we're not a shipping company, so we don't earn more when you import.
