Importing to the Canada: is it actually cheaper?
We haven't priced individual products for Canada yet — but the checker works on any Canada product link right now: paste one and we read its price, match our US price of record, and do the landed-cost math below. Here's how importing to Canada works.
How importing to the Canada works
- Import VAT
- 5% on the US price + shipping (CIF), above a $40 de-minimis threshold.
- Duty
- 0% — Consumer electronics (smartphones, laptops, cameras, headphones) enter at 0% MFN duty under Canada's tariff, in line with the WTO Information Technology Agreement, regardless of origin. Some non-ITA items (e.g. certain TVs, speakers) can carry up to ~5-6.5%, but the listed categories are duty-free. Note also that from the US, CUSMA waives duty entirely under CAD $150 anyway.
- Forwarding
- Stackry, from the US — about 4-10 days.
- FX
- $1.401/USD mid-market + 3% card spread, as of 2026-10-23. Rates By Exchange Rate API
