Importing to the Chile: is it actually cheaper?
We haven't priced individual products for Chile yet — but the checker works on any Chile product link right now: paste one and we read its price, match our US price of record, and do the landed-cost math below. Here's how importing to Chile works.
How importing to the Chile works
- Import VAT
- 19% on the US price + shipping (CIF), above a $40.000 de-minimis threshold.
- Duty
- 6% — Chile applies a flat 6% MFN general customs duty on most goods, but it is WAIVED on personal parcels valued at/under USD $500 (the new duty de-minimis). US-origin goods are 0% under the US-Chile FTA with a certificate of origin, though most consumer electronics are China-made and would not qualify. In practice a typical sub-$500 forwarded electronics parcel pays 0% duty but still owes 19% IVA. Chile is not a WTO ITA signatory, so no automatic 0% ITA rate applies above the threshold.
- Forwarding
- MyUS, from the US — about 5-12 days.
- FX
- $974.4/USD mid-market + 3% card spread, as of 2026-10-08.
Every verdict is computed only from these figures — it's never for sale, and we're not a shipping company, so we don't earn more when you import.
