Importing to the Germany: is it actually cheaper?
We haven't priced individual products for Germany yet — but the checker works on any Germany product link right now: paste one and we read its price, match our US price of record, and do the landed-cost math below. Here's how importing to Germany works.
How importing to the Germany works
- Import VAT
- 19% on the US price + shipping (CIF), above a 0 € de-minimis threshold.
- Duty
- 0% — Consumer electronics (smartphones HS 8517, laptops HS 8471, cameras, headphones) carry a 0% MFN customs duty in the EU under the WTO Information Technology Agreement (ITA), regardless of origin. Note: since 1 July 2026 a temporary flat €3 charge per item applies to low-value parcels (≤€150) even where the tariff duty is 0%; above €150 the normal 0% ITA rate applies with no €3 charge.
- Forwarding
- MyUS, from the US — about 3-8 days.
- FX
- €0.893/USD mid-market + 3% card spread, as of 2026-10-08.
Every verdict is computed only from these figures — it's never for sale, and we're not a shipping company, so we don't earn more when you import.
