Importing to the Italy: is it actually cheaper?
We haven't priced individual products for Italy yet — but the checker works on any Italy product link right now: paste one and we read its price, match our US price of record, and do the landed-cost math below. Here's how importing to Italy works.
How importing to the Italy works
- Import VAT
- 22% on the US price + shipping (CIF), above a 0 € de-minimis threshold.
- Duty
- 0% — Consumer electronics — smartphones (HS 8517), laptops/tablets (HS 8471), cameras, headphones — are duty-free (0% MFN) across the EU under the WTO Information Technology Agreement, regardless of country of origin. Caveat: since 1 July 2026 a temporary €3 flat customs fee per item applies to low-value parcels (≤€150) even though the underlying duty rate is 0%.
- Forwarding
- Stackry, from the US — about 3-8 days.
- FX
- €0.893/USD mid-market + 3% card spread, as of 2026-10-08.
Every verdict is computed only from these figures — it's never for sale, and we're not a shipping company, so we don't earn more when you import.
