Importing to the Turkey: is it actually cheaper?
We haven't priced individual products for Turkey yet — but the checker works on any Turkey product link right now: paste one and we read its price, match our US price of record, and do the landed-cost math below. Here's how importing to Turkey works.
How importing to the Turkey works
- Import VAT
- 20% on the US price + shipping (CIF), above a ₺0 de-minimis threshold.
- Duty
- 60% — Turkey taxes forwarded US e-commerce parcels under a punitive single-and-fixed tax: 60% of value (non-EU origin) plus 20% KDV — no de-minimis (the EUR 30 threshold was abolished 6 Feb 2026). PHONES are effectively un-importable: a foreign handset needs IMEI registration costing ~₺54,258 (~US$1,263) on top, and only one per passenger every 3 years. Importing to Turkey almost always loses to buying locally.
- Forwarding
- Planet Express, from the US — about 5-10 days.
- FX
- ₺49.7/USD mid-market + 3% card spread, as of 2026-10-23. Rates By Exchange Rate API
