What reviewers say

Sourced tester consensus for each — the "what people who used it think" layer, not just specs.

Weber SmokeFire EX4 Wood Fired Pellet Grill (2nd Gen)

Only one whitelisted tester, Reviewed (USA Today), yields a real hands-on body. It calls the SmokeFire a genuine smoke-and-sear all-rounder that makes excellent brisket, but flags grease-fire risk, inconsistent searing heat, and temperature swings. Important caveat: Reviewed's hands-on second-generation unit was the larger EX6 (their EX4 test was the first gen), so no whitelisted tester bench-measured this exact 2nd-gen EX4 -- measured figures are therefore not attributed to it. (1 sourced review.)

Praised: Produces excellent smoke-forward barbecue -- juicy brisket with a strong smoke ring; Genuinely sears as well as smokes thanks to the open grill design (only a small 8-inch heat deflector); Reliable pellet feed with no jams, plus strong fuel efficiency.

Flagged: Grease pooling in the cook box caused an actual grease fire; needs cleaning after every session; Inconsistent heat mapping across the grate makes the searing function hard to use evenly; Runs hot with noticeable temperature swings above the set point.
