What reviewers say about the Govee Smart Air Quality Monitor (H5106)

Three whitelisted hands-on reviewers (TechHive, Reviewed, Digital Trends) call the Govee H5106 a strong budget PM2.5, temperature and humidity monitor with a big, easy-to-read display, simple setup and Govee-appliance automations. All three flag the same gap: no carbon monoxide, CO2 or VOC sensing (Reviewed also notes no PM10). None benchmarked accuracy against a reference instrument; lab data absent.

Commonly flagged

  • No carbon monoxide, CO2 or VOC sensing · 3 sources
  • Wired USB-C power limits placement · 2 sources
  • No PM10 measurement
  • Function button behaved inconsistently

Where reviewers disagree Little cross-source disagreement — all three rate it a solid budget monitor. The sharpest single-source critique is Reviewed's, arguing VPD is near-useless outside greenhouses and a wasted slot versus CO/VOC/PM10. None of the three benchmarked PM2.5 accuracy against a reference instrument, so accuracy assessments are impressionistic.

TechHive hands-on ·

The Govee Smart Air Quality Monitor is an easy and inexpensive way to track indoor air conditions and increase your comfort.
Does not track carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, or VOC levels
Function button did not work as expected

Reviewed (USA Today) hands-on ·

Throughout the course of testing, the PM2.5 levels in our home were generally single-digit, which made me feel great.
Because the monitor seems to be fairly accurate when tracking smoke, I can see it being quite useful in areas where wildfires are common, as air quality is likely a major concern.
It doesn’t monitor for carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds (commonly called VOCs), or PM10, which are larger particles like dust and pollen.

Digital Trends hands-on ·

The display can essentially show four different values at once, an impressive feat for such a small device.
The biggest omission is carbon monoxide.
It also lacks the ability to measure carbon dioxide levels.

Source: us.govee.com (verified 2026-07-10) · corroborated by techhive.com. Official Govee US product page lists "Model: H5106", price "$34.99 $59.99" (sale over original MSRP), and confirms it monitors temperature, humidity, and PM2.5, with Govee Home app data via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and USB-C ("Type-C Cable Required") power. TechHive's dated review (Dec 16, 2022) corroborates the exact model: it "runs on AC power (via USB-C)", has a bright front display of temperature/humidity/PM2.5 plus a color LED indicator, lists MSRP "$60", and explicitly notes it does NOT track carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, or VOC — hence co2/voc/radon set to false. The Amazon listing (ASIN B0BC7NKJ2Z, Mfr Part Number H5106101) further confirms the H5106 identity, the clock/PM2.5 LED display with a 4-level air-quality indicator, and no built-in battery. priceUsd set to the $59.99 MSRP (currently discounted to $34.99).
