Tested by Pro Tool Reviews, Pro Tool Reviews

Consistently praised

  • Class-leading measured soft torque among 18V compact drills (312 in-lbs, first place by a wide gap)
  • Most complete compact drill on objective data — balanced speed, torque, size, and weight
  • Strong value with an attractive price and no major features overlooked

Where reviewers disagree No cross-source disagreement is possible: both articles come from Pro Tool Reviews' single head-to-head test program, which published no negatives for this model in the verified text. Note the tested unit is the DS18DBFL2 tool body; the EM suffix only denotes the 2-battery MultiVolt kit. Pro Tool Reviews' original standalone DS18DBFL2 review is no longer recoverable, so coverage rests on the archived head-to-head and a comparison within the DeWalt DCD797 review.
