What reviewers say about the Sennheiser IE 600

All three whitelisted testers (SoundGuys, Tom's Guide, TechRadar) recommend the IE 600 as a premium wired IEM with outstanding detail and a durable zirconium build; only SoundGuys measured anything (5-10 dB foam-tip sub-bass isolation). Chief gripes are the high list price across all three, plus Tom's Guide's harsh-treble warning and a polarizing housing texture.

Commonly flagged

  • Expensive at list price · 3 sources
  • Very confident high frequencies can tip into harshness on bright sources
  • Textured housing finish is polarizing and can feel uncomfortable over time
  • No in-line mic or volume controls on supplied cables

Where reviewers disagree Testers split on treble and comfort. Tom's Guide lists 'very confident high-frequency reproduction' as a con that can turn hard/abrasive, whereas SoundGuys and TechRadar heard the sound as balanced and did not flag the treble. On comfort, SoundGuys found the pitted housing uncomfortable after about half an hour, while TechRadar wore them full work days with no irritation and Tom's Guide called them comfortable for hours on end.

Sub-bass isolation (foam tips): 5-10 dB

with the foam ear tips the IE 600 blocks between 5 and 10dB sub bass noise
the IE 600 does everything it says it will do, from the undistorted audio to the great isolation
The IE 600 feels a little uncomfortable after about half an hour due to the finish, but not because of the fit necessarily.

Tom's Guide hands-on ·

In every aspect of music-making — soundstaging, detail retrieval, dynamism, control, straightforward musicality, you name it — they're never less than impressive and are periodically thrilling.
Listen to music you've heard a hundred times before and the IE600 will show you something new about it.
the amount of bits, shine and attack these earbuds load onto the highest frequencies can fairly easily topple over into hardness and abrasiveness if they're paired with an unsympathetic (or similarly inclined) music player.

TechRadar hands-on ·

These earphones bring fine sonic details to the surface, while delivering clear, balanced overall sound quality
The depth of the bass was certainly imposing, so if you're the kind of person who wants to experience meaty low-frequency sounds, these IEMs won't disappoint.
it's a shame that the included cable here doesn't include an in-line controller or mic, which makes the IE 600 a little inconvenient if you're on the go and have to adjust volume via the source device.

The official Sennheiser US product page (title "IE 600", article number/SKU 508948) confirms the exact model and its full specification table: single 7 mm TrueResponse dynamic driver ("Single Dynamic Driver, Pressure Chamber"), 4 – 46,500 Hz, 18 Ω, 118 dB at 1 kHz / 1 Vrms SPL, detachable Fidelity (+) MMCX connectors, and the 3D-printed AMLOY-ZR01 amorphous-metal housing. The SoundGuys review (Model Number "IE 600") corroborates the identity and supplies the launch price ("Original: $699"), the release date ("March 8, 2022"), and the per-earpiece weight ("6g (per earbud)"), consistent with the manufacturer specs. priceUsd is the 2022 US launch MSRP of $699; sensitivityDbMw is left null because Sennheiser publishes SPL only in dB per 1 Vrms, not dB/mW.
