What reviewers say about the ASUS ZenWiFi BT10

Two whitelisted testers (Tom's Hardware, TechRadar) measured the BT10 and rate it a fast, feature-rich Wi-Fi 7 mesh let down by a ~$900 price. Both praise close- and long-range throughput and Asus's deep, customizable software. Tom's Hardware flags stingy ports (one LAN is only 1G); TechRadar flags website-history logging as a privacy concern and highlights subscription-free security.

  • Deep, customizable AsusWRT software and feature set · 2 sources
  • 10G Ethernet wired connectivity / MLO backhaul · 2 sources
  • Subscription-free security and parental controls

Commonly flagged

  • Expensive (~$900 for two nodes) · 2 sources
  • Weak port selection (one LAN port is only 1G)
  • Website-history logging raises privacy concerns

Where reviewers disagree TechRadar gave the BT10 an Editor's Choice with top marks despite the price, while Tom's Hardware, though positive, concluded the cheaper TP-Link Deco BE65 Pro is a better value for most home users.

Tom's Hardware lab-tested ·

6 GHz throughput at 6 ft (uncongested, iPerf3): 2,667 Mbps · 6 GHz throughput at 25 ft: 1,157 Mbps · 5 GHz throughput at 6 ft: 1,293 Mbps · 5 GHz throughput at 25 ft: 659 Mbps

Close-range 6GHz band performance surpassing 2,600 Mbps is good no matter how you slice it, and performance on the other two bands was competitive with the Netgear Orbi 770 and TP-Link Deco BE65 Pro.
With a street price of around $900, the ZenWiFi BT10 is speedy and feature-packed, but Asus is stingy with the port selection and specs at this price.
There are only two LAN ports, one of which is 1G and the other is 10G.

TechRadar lab-tested ·

Throughput close range: 1,661 Mbps · Throughput two rooms away (medium range): 614 Mbps · Throughput 15 m away (long range): 370 Mbps

It looks good, offers excellent performance up close or at a distance, and is simple to use thanks to an intuitive app.
The only real downside is the exorbitant price tag, which dents the value proposition.
My main concern is that the QoS controls have a feature that tracks the websites used by everyone on the network. That raises some serious privacy issues.
