What reviewers say about the Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer JBV-A10U
Two whitelisted labs assessed this exact model (Tiger JBV-A10U); neither makes it a top pick. Wirecutter hands-on tested it, clocking white rice in under 30 minutes but finding the grains could have been plumper and condensation dripping from the fixed, drain-hole-less lid. Reviewed praised its simplicity and side-vented synchro-cook steamer basket but called it bulky and short on grain presets. (CNN Underscored excluded as non-whitelisted.)

Consistently praised
- Affordable entry into fuzzy-logic/micom cooking
- Fast — white rice done in under 30 minutes
- Simple, no-fuss operation
- Side-vented synchro-cook steamer basket avoids leakage when cooking two dishes at once
Commonly flagged
- Rice grains came out less plump than desired
- Non-removable lid and no functional drain hole let condensation collect and spill into the rice
- Lacks the grain presets found on more advanced cookers
- Bulky and oddly tall, awkward to store on the counter
Where reviewers disagree The two outlets diverge on rice quality: Reviewed lists good white rice quality as a pro and says it makes decent white rice, while Wirecutter found the grains underplump. They also split on the two-dish design — Reviewed rates the side-vented steamer basket a genuine asset, whereas Wirecutter never credits steaming and instead flags the non-removable lid dripping condensation into the rice.

white rice cook time: under 30 minutes
We were excited to try out the Tiger JBV-A10U because it’s an affordable cooker that offers fuzzy-logic controls.
While it was speedy in our tests, finishing a batch of white rice in under 30 minutes, the grains could’ve been plumper.
Additionally, the lid is not removable, and it lacks a functional drain hole, so puddles of condensation collect and spill into your rice when you open the lid.
We like this Tiger because of its simplicity.
This Tiger steamer basket is useful because the steam holes are on the sides, so there’s no leakage when two dishes are cooked concurrently.
However, we didn’t like how much space it takes on the countertop. It’s oddly tall and bulky, which also makes storing this cooker a challenge.
