What reviewers say about the DJI Mic Mini

Both whitelisted testers that reviewed this exact model rate the DJI Mic Mini a strong budget wireless mic. Tom's Guide (hands-on, with a 2-hour battery-drain test) and SoundGuys (1-week test, 6.6/10) agree it is tiny, affordable and good-sounding for casual creators, but stripped of pro safety features such as internal recording and 32-bit float. Both sources survived verification with all quotes confirmed as literal substrings.

TX battery consumed during a 2-hour recording: ~20%

The Mic Mini’s audio quality is very respectable given its price.
a two hour recording ate up around 20% of the battery, so you can expect around 10 hours per TX unit, which is still pretty good.
With other devices, it simply uses Bluetooth and audio quality takes a hit, with more distortion and tinniness.

SoundGuys lab-tested ·

The DJI Mic Mini is an excellent all-in-one microphone system for casual content creators on a budget.
Using the DJI Mic Mini instead of my phone’s microphone is a night and day difference.
The Mic Mini transmitters do not offer any internal recording as a backup.

Source: dji.com (verified 2026-07-11) · corroborated by techradar.com. The DJI manufacturer specs page (dji.com/mic-mini/specs) confirmed the exact model via transmitter model DMMT01 and receiver model DMMR01, listing single-transmitter weight ~10 g, 2.4 GHz operation with Bluetooth 5.3, max transmission range 400 m, and max SPL of "120 dB SPL". The dated TechRadar review (Dec 2024) corroborates the same exact model and its US price — "$169 ... for the compete kit with 2x mics, receiver and charging case" — plus 11.5 h transmitter / 10.5 h receiver battery and up to 48 h with the fully charged case; Newsshooter (2024-11-26) also states "$169 USD" for this 2 TX + 1 RX + Charging Case kit. Both confirm this is the complete charging-case kit (not the 1 TX + 1 RX variant), and TechRadar notes the Mic Mini lacks the Mic 2's 32-bit float (records 24-bit), so bitDepthFloat is false; internal recording and latency are not disclosed, hence null.
