What reviewers say about the Insta360 X3
Two whitelisted outlets published hands-on reviews of the exact Insta360 X3 (2022 model). TechRadar (1 March 2023) ran quantitative tests, measuring battery drain (100% to 87% after 15 min, 49% after 45 min) and 45 minutes of continuous 5.7K capture with no overheating message. Digital Trends (13 Sept 2022) tested a prelaunch unit hands-on but reported no quantitative figures. Both praise the large 2.29-inch touchscreen, FlowState stabilization plus 360 horizon lock, the fun and versatile shooting/editing modes, strong 360 image quality, and strong value for a 360 camera. Both flag slow startup with occasional freezes and weak low-light performance. TechRadar alone flags soft single-lens 4K footage.

Where reviewers disagree The two split on flat single-lens video quality: TechRadar judged single-lens 4K soft and 'not even close' to a dedicated single-lens GoPro, whereas Digital Trends described the X3's video overall as 'sharp and clean' and foregrounded its 360 strengths rather than single-lens shortcomings.

The Insta360 X3 is a great all-rounder action camera.
Handheld use is the part Insta360 X3 nails better than a GoPro, which feel like they should be attached to a selfie stick at the very least.
The Insta360 X3 takes a solid couple of seconds to actually start recording clips, and the GoPro Max feels instantaneous by comparison.
The X3 delivers really good-looking video that's sharp and clean.
The X3 offers a significant boost in image quality over the X2
I did, however, run frequently into a problem in which the camera would freeze up on me, often during startup, and I had to pop the battery out to get it up and running again.

| Price (US) | Not published No stable US MSRP could be sourced verbatim. The only fetchable US price page, Tom's Guide (published 8 September 2022), displayed live affiliate/Prime Day deal prices ("$229.99 at Amazon", "$229.99 at Best Buy", "$299.99 at Sweetwater", "$299.99 at BHPhoto") rather than a list MSRP, and these deal widgets are volatile day-to-day. The official Insta360 store, B&H, Amazon and Best Buy product pages all returned HTTP 403 and could not be fetched. CameraPro listed "$799.00" but that is an Australian (AUD) store price, not USD. Left null per null-beats-a-guess. |

Source: onlinemanual.insta360.com (verified 2026-07-13) · corroborated by treelinereview.com. The official Insta360 online-manual X-series hardware specifications page confirms this exact model in its X3 column (Standard Edition released September 8, 2022): 1/2" sensor, F1.9 lens aperture, 180g body weight, IPX8 waterproofing to "Camera only: 33ft (10m)", micro-SD-only storage, and a "5.7K@30fps: Approx. 81 minutes" battery-life rating that anchors both the 5.7K max video resolution and its 30fps rate. Treeline Review's dated (June 28, 2023) hands-on review corroborates the Insta360 X3 with dual 48MP 1/2" sensors, "Megapixels: 72", "5.7K 360-degree up to 30FPS", a "LCD: 2.3\"" touchscreen, "Micro SD" storage and "180 grams" weight; the CameraPro retailer listing (SKU INSTAONEX3) further confirmed the exact model with "5.7K" and "72MP". No stable US MSRP was sourceable: the only fetchable US price page (Tom's Guide) showed only volatile live deal prices ($229.99/$299.99) and the official store plus B&H/Amazon returned HTTP 403, so priceUsd is left null.
