How we checked
The official OM System US product page confirmed the exact model "M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO II" and supplied every spec value verbatim: focal length 12-40mm, maximum aperture F2.8, 7 aperture blades, closest focusing distance 0.2m, maximum image magnification 0.3x (Micro Four Thirds), 62mm filter diameter, 382g weight, and IP53 dust/splash/freezeproof sealing, plus the $999.99 price. The Digital Camera World review corroborated the Micro Four Thirds mount, IP53 weather sealing, "Stabilization: No", 0.2m minimum focus, 0.3x magnification, 62mm filter, and the $999.99 price ("at OM SYSTEM"), and explicitly distinguished this PRO II (IP53) from the original Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO (IPX1), confirming model identity. The review's stated 9 aperture blades conflicts with the manufacturer's 7, so the authoritative manufacturer figure (7) was used; release date was not stated verbatim on either fetched page and is left blank.
