What reviewers say about the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9900 Prestige

Only one whitelisted tester, TechRadar, published a hands-on review of this exact model. TechRadar calls it a premium, remarkably quiet 'executive' brush with helpful real-time feedback, but flags that every setting lives in the app and that its pressure sensor and location tracking trail the Oral-B iO Series 9.

Tested by TechRadar

Consistently praised

  • Remarkably quiet, premium 'executive' design that feels smooth and comfortable in the hand
  • Real-time feedback that warns on scrubbing and auto-lowers intensity when you press too hard
  • USB-C rechargeable leather-effect travel case, practical for frequent travellers

Commonly flagged

  • No handle controls beyond a power button — all mode/intensity changes require the app
  • Pressure sensor and in-app location tracking trail the Oral-B iO Series 9
  • Expensive at $399.99 launch price

Where reviewers disagree Only one whitelisted source survived verification, so no cross-source comparison is possible. TechRadar's own verdict is internally mixed: it praises the premium feel and adaptive feedback while noting app-dependence and the high price as real drawbacks.

The Sonicare 9900 Prestige is remarkably quiet, and the sound fades gently in and out as you turn it on and off.
In our tests, this appeared much less sensitive than the pressure sensor of the Oral-B iO Series 9 (another premium electric toothbrush).
we found that the brush location wasn't quite as accurate as that of the Oral-B iO Series 9.
