The Shokz OpenDots One are premium clip-on open earbuds which fit like a dream, offer respectable sound, come in a lovely totable carry case and have an impressive competitive battery life.
As sound gets towards the mids they do lose some detail and clarity
I tried using the buds quite a bit while cycling and, more so than sports-loop buds, their design caught on my helmet's strap.
I can safely say the OpenDots One deliver some of the best bass I've ever heard in a set of open-ear earbuds.
After several hours, I notice pressure where the speaker module touches the inside of my concha.
For reasons known only to Shokz, there are only two tap gestures: a double-tap (or double pinch) and a long pinch, and only the long pinch can be customized.
I found the OpenDots One extremely comfortable to wear.
I was skeptical about how well I'd be able to hear a podcast or music on a busy commute, but was pleasantly surprised.
The OpenDots One has no physical buttons, which I didn't love.
The Shokz OpenDots One are nicely made and pleasant to wear, but their disappointing sound means they're not likely to challenge the best open earbuds at this price
The OpenDots One are certainly small, we'll give them that, with their lightweight, compact footprint and out-of-ear design combining nicely to provide the desired effect of making the buds all but disappear during use.
Clarity and precision are lacking, too. The OpenDots One are somewhat loose and muddy in the way they present the music they're playing.
