What reviewers say about the Samsung The Freestyle 2nd Gen
Two whitelisted outlets cover this exact model. TechRadar lab-measured the projector and praises its compact design, Tizen streaming and built-in Gaming Hub while flagging weak brightness (6.6-7.3 nits on a 100-inch screen) and its single micro-HDMI port. What Hi-Fi's IFA 2023 hands-on was positive on portability and picture detail but was explicitly unmeasured and could not judge black levels or contrast.

Where reviewers disagree Only TechRadar measured the unit; its lab data (6.6-7.3 nits) confirms the brightness weakness. What Hi-Fi's positive picture impression was a booth hands-on that explicitly could not judge black levels or contrast, so it is not a true cross-source measured contradiction.

Samsung's 2nd Gen portable is nicely compact and versatile, and it has superior streaming and gaming capabilities compared to other portable projectors.
With the picture blown up to maximum size on a 100-inch screen, it was noticeably dim, even when viewed in a completely dark room.
Brightness is a disappointment given the projector's relatively high price, but if you're seeking a feature-packed portable for movies and gaming on the go, The Freestyle 2nd Gen won't disappoint.
it's the simplicity and portability of this projector that are its unique selling points
There appeared to be decent detail to the picture, with solid enough colours and good definition and detail on faces and clothing.
One of the areas we criticised the original for was the "below-par black levels" but it was impossible to really get an idea of this in an exhibition environment.
