Where reviewers disagree Reviews span two hardware generations. Reviewed (2021) tested a unit that 'folds up vertically when not in use' and noted 'it's also possible to use the manual row mode,' whereas GGR and BarBend (2023-24) tested the redesign that 'does not fold' and, per GGR, 'you can't use the rower at all without an iFIT subscription.' BarBend alone faulted the resistance, saying it 'couldn't tell much of a difference across the levels,' while GGR enjoyed the 26 levels and the AutoAdjust feature without that complaint.

The NordicTrack RW900 rowing machine is, in my opinion, one of the best value smart rowers out there
The RW900 seems like a durable piece of fitness equipment.
The only major downfall to the NordicTrack RW900 is the low user weight capacity.
The whole machine just feels really good to row on.
Classes are led by expert trainers, some of whom are former Olympians, and take place all over the world
This feels exclusionary to a considerable number of people who should be able to use this machine, too.

Overall, we were pleased with the RW900 during our time with it.
Our biggest gripe with this rower, though, is the magnetic resistance.
But on the bright side, the noise is kept to a minimum.
