What reviewers say about the QIDI Plus 4

Two whitelisted hands-on testers (Tom's Hardware, TechRadar) reviewed the QIDI Plus4; both rate it highly. They praise excellent print quality, dimensional accuracy, sturdy metal-and-glass build, and a heated chamber for engineering filaments like PA-CF and ABS. Both flag stiff filament loading; TechRadar also notes a laggy UI and no spaghetti detection. No RTINGS/PCMag coverage.

Tested by Tom's Hardware, TechRadar

Consistently praised

  • Excellent print quality, smooth surfaces and strong dimensional accuracy · 2 sources
  • Sturdy, well-built fully-enclosed metal-and-glass Core XY frame · 2 sources
  • Heated chamber plus 370°C hotend handle high-temp engineering filaments (ABS, PA-CF, PPS-CF) warp-free · 2 sources
  • Fast, hands-free automatic calibration/leveling and open Klipper firmware · 2 sources

Commonly flagged

  • Filament loading is stiff — requires firm pushing/jamming to feed · 2 sources
  • Touchscreen UI can lag when switching model previews
  • No AI, object or spaghetti detection; camera is time-lapse/monitoring only
  • Single-color only at review time (multicolor QIDI Box still unreleased)

Where reviewers disagree Both testers agree on excellent print quality and build. The clearest divergence is the interface: TechRadar repeatedly flags a laggy touchscreen UI, whereas Tom's Hardware never mentions screen lag and instead singles out the lack of multicolor options as the main limitation for hobbyists.

Tom's Hardware lab-tested ·

Speed Benchy print time (0.25mm layer, 300 mm/s, gray PLA): 12 min 58 s · Polymaker PA12 carbon-fiber RC parts print time (0.2mm layer): 7 hr 9 min · TPU plow print time (0.28mm layer, 4 walls, 50% infill, ~200 mm/s): 14 hr 36 min

When the printer was run at ordinary speeds (around 200 to 300mm/s) it produced spectacularly fine prints.
My only problem with the QIDI 4Plus was filament loading. I found you really have to jam the filament in to get it through to the extruder.
The quality is excellent, but current lack of color options makes this machine more ideal for business minded practical printing rather than home hobbyists.

TechRadar lab-tested ·

Dimensional accuracy, X&Y error average (calibration cube): 0.062 mm · Dimensional accuracy, X error average: 0.072 mm · Dimensional accuracy, Y error average: 0.052 mm · Print-quality test total score: 29/30

The exterior wall quality is just about as smooth as any machine we have used, and overall print times were excellent.
there isn't any form of object or spaghetti detection, and the camera is for capturing time-lapse images only.
print quality is excellent. It is ideal for small businesses and educational settings.

Price (US)Not published Neither re-fetched page contains a verifiable USD price. The source Tech Specs page (qidi3d.com) lists no price. The Amazon corroboration listing (B0DBQ8MZX6) shows "No featured offers available" and "Price —" (only an unrelated EUR 436.69 figure in a similar-items comparison column). The prior $799 figure was attributed to the us.qidi3d.com US store, which is not among the fetched source/corroboration URLs, so priceUsd is nulled per methodology (value not found verbatim in fetched text).

Source: qidi3d.com (verified 2026-07-10) · corroborated by amazon.com. Verified against re-fetched pages. QIDI official Tech Specs page (qidi3d.com/pages/qidi-plus-4-techspecs) confirms verbatim: 305*305*280 mm print size, 600mm/s max tool-head speed, ≤370℃ print head temperature, hands-free automatic leveling, enclosed CoreXY body with chamber circulation fan + activated-carbon air filter and 2nd-Gen up-to-65℃ independent chamber heating. Amazon listing (ASIN B0DBQ8MZX6, item model AU-PLUS4 — same PLUS4 model, not a sibling/variant) corroborates FDM technology (spec comparison table), 305*305*280mm build volume, ≤600mm/s speed, ≤370°C extruder, and states "Date First Available July 31, 2024" supporting a 2024-07 release. multicolor=false: the base unit is only compatible with the separate QIDI Box accessory (MMU, launched Q1 2025), so no built-in multicolor. priceUsd nulled: no price appears on either fetched page — the source techspecs page lists none and Amazon showed "No featured offers available"; the $799 was sourced from us.qidi3d.com, which is not among the source/corroboration URLs. All 8 specKeys verified from fetched pages (>half survive), so publish=true.
