What reviewers say about the NordicTrack S22i Studio Bike

Three hands-on testers (Garage Gym Reviews, BarBend, Reviewed) rate the S22i a top Peloton alternative, praising engaging iFit programming with Google Maps scenic rides, unique 20% incline / -10% decline auto-follow, quiet magnetic resistance, and a sturdy above-average 350-lb-capacity frame. Complaints are split across testers rather than unanimous: lengthy individually-wrapped assembly needing two people (GGR, BarBend), a stiff, minimally-padded stock seat on longer rides (GGR, Reviewed), and the ~$1,999 price plus near-mandatory $39/mo iFit fee (GGR, BarBend). No source published instrument-measured lab numbers; RTINGS-style data unavailable.

Garage Gym Reviews hands-on ·

The S22i impresses with expansive interactive programming, adjustability, and an inertia-enhanced flywheel to create a smooth-riding, quality ride
I did notice the handlebars and monitor shake slightly when I was standing out of the saddle.
I do not like that you have to unplug the entire bike after you’re finished using it as recommended by NordicTrack.

BarBend hands-on ·

There’s no wobbliness across the profile when taking on high-intensity workouts
Our tester did note that spotty networks can be troublesome when streaming workouts, leading to the occasional lag and annoying glitch.
the S22i’s manual mode is rather underwhelming, so we wouldn’t recommend purchasing it without an iFIT subscription.

Reviewed hands-on ·

I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this bike is.
The seat is too stiff for my liking and gets uncomfortable during bike rides longer than 30 minutes.
The auto-follow setting makes it easy to focus on your instructor and your feet as the bike automatically adjusts to various inclines and resistance levels.
